Mac Software I use often

This is a short list currently and will eventually be completed. I prefer Open Source software but am open to other types as well. For now:

TextMate

My text editor, mainly for programming but it works great for everything else too. The most extensible text editor on the planet.

Image Tricks

As strange as it sounds I've had an impossible time finding a decent image program for Mac. Either you get Photoshop, or, nothing, and I don't do enough to justify purchasing Photoshop. Just need to do basic stuff like crop, resize, convert to basic formats (jpg/png/gif/...), sharpen, you know... the basics. So finally I found (and love!) Image Tricks. It's designed to use cool filters for images but also does the basic stuff I want. Download now and try, nothing to lose. For example you can use the filters found in Photo Booth plus a lot more.

Adium

This Instant Messaging client combines all protocols including AIM, MSN, Yahoo, GTalk, Jabber, etc. If you're on a Mac, and do any instant messaging, odds are you'll use Adium.

Vienna

I'm new to this "Web 2.0" but am starting to read RSS feeds. Vienna works well for that and keeps things simple. I like simple. Other RSS readers are being tested at this time.

NeoOffice

Sometimes clients provide Word (and even Wordperfect) files so I must open them. To do all this I use NeoOffice which is a Mac friendlier version of Open Office. It works pretty good.

Transmit

FTP is pretty important, I use it daily. Mostly for transferring files to and from web servers and my text editor and hard drive. Transmit is nice although I've yet to find the _perfect_ FTP client.

Apple Mail

I love this email client, and use it for all email including for gmail

Colloquy

An IRC client with pretty colors. Used for chatting with people on the PHP project, and getting support for various projects (usually open source projects).
